3 years agoAnonymous asked: Do you like comics? If yes, who are your favourite comic artists?
Hell yes!
I will answer this question by mixing both comic artists and authors as well as comics and (the pretentiously called) “graphic novels”, cause I can.
I think my top three are David B., Enki Bilal and Moebius.
Others include (in no particular order):
Our dear leader Warren Ellis, Alan Moore, Peter Blegvad (my interview for Fumetto with him over here), Neil Gaiman, Anke Feuchtenberger, Moki, Nicolas Mahler (whose very lifelike drawing of me you can find below - incl. septum, glasses and kilt!), Stéphane Blanquet and the publications by the lovely folks at Le Dernier Cri, Milk & Wodka from Basel (wooot!), Suehiro Maruo (hey, he counts!), Robert Crumb, Dan Clowes, Ed Brubaker, Charles Burns, Dave Cooper, Adrian Tomine, Chris Ware, Jonathan Rosen (who’s one of the nicest people on this planet), Hans Rickheit, Winsor McCay.
And about a gazillion more, but heck, I really don’t have time for this. :)

I love Moki. I have met her (without realising who she was) at the Lucerne Comics Festival a few years ago when she completely altruistically helped building up exhibition displays with us.
She has a beautiful book out entitled Asleep in a Foreign Place published by Kiki-Post/Orang/Sascha Hommer. I think it’s out of print, but available from your friendly local comics shop and highly worth its tiny price tag. :)
