I know this totally isn’t new, but for those who haven’t seen Haneke’s Das Weisse Band yet, this scene should encourage you to lend it your eyes and hearts.

Whoever posted this gorgeous photograph without credit should be made to stand in the Elizabethan portrait section of Tate Britain looking at chest veins for 2 hours. It’s not nice. Trust me.

If you see one photography exhibition this year, let it be Sally Mann’s solo show at the Photographers’ Gallery in London and if you buy one (albeit bloody expensive!) art book this year, let it be her What Remains published by Bulfinch. I swear you won’t regret it.

The first person who can find the inherent visual connection between this photograph and the one posted before will win something I bought at Spitalfields today. No, seriously. I’m in a generous mood. You have 15 minutes to submit your answer here.
Also, is it just me or is there a creepy small black-haired doll’s head with a black eye peeking out of the right half of the body - just below the white sleeve around the shoulder area?! o_O

This has got to be one of the saddest things I’ve seen ever and it comes from the expert in spreading emotional trauma:
My true and eternal love, Mirella von Chrupek whose DNA I will soon be able to extract due to a cunning plan and thus create an army of Chrupeks that will subdue humanity by spreading the global message of fluff with their cute kitten* catapults.
